Brazil closes its great day in Para Swimming with two gold medals

The South American giant celebrated in the 50m freestyle le S11 and male’s S10.

Saturday, November 18th, 2023.- Brazil is the undisputed dominator of Para Swimming at the Santiago 2023 Parapan American Games and concluded Saturday's session with two gold medals.

In the male's 50m freestyle S11, the winner was Brazilian Wendell Belarmino, who clocked in at 26.64, securing the gold and breaking his own Pan American record.

Joining him on the podium was his compatriot Matheus Rheine, claiming the silver with a time of 27.19, while third place went to Colombian Brayan Triana, finishing at 27.98.

Lastly, in the male's 50m freestyle S10, the fastest was also Brazil's representative Phelipe Melo, stopping the clock at 23.93.

On the second step of the podium stood Canadian Fernando Lu (25.28), and the medal distribution was closed by the United States' Yaseen El-Demerdash with 25.42.

Brazil dominates Para Swimming with a total of 19 medals, including 10 gold, five silver, and four bronze.
