Saturday, November 18th, 2023.- Argentina opened the male's wheelchair basketball competition with a clear victory over Venezuela, 72-44, in a match belonging to Group A, which also includes Chile and Canada.

The winning quintet dominated from the start. They won the first quarter 15-9 and went into halftime with a 15-point lead (32-17).

Only in one stage of the third period did the Caribbean team manage to level the match, but the “albicelestes” quickly regained control and stretched the lead to secure a comprehensive victory.

Argentinian Carlos Esteche was the top scorer with 19 points, followed by compatriot Daniel Copa with 16. For the Venezuelans, Nelson Solorzano stood out with 16 goals.

In the next game for this group, this Saturday at 8:30 p.m., the host Chile will face Canada, the runner-up at the 2019 Lima Parapan American Games.

It's worth noting that in wheelchair basketball, the court dimensions are the same as in FIBA basketball, and similarly, four quarters of 10 minutes each are played.
