Team Chile close the last day of competition with nine medals

Chile added three silver medals and six bronze medals at the end of the Pan American Games.

Sunday, November 5th, 2023.- On the last day of the competitions in Santiago 2023, Team Chile collected nine medals, three silver and six bronze, which served as a significant conclusion to their outstanding performance in the Pan American Games.

In karate, Tomás Freire couldn't continue Team Chile's streak of gold and won the silver medal, losing in the final against Venezuela's Andrés Madera in the male's -67kg category.

In female’s BMX Freestyle, Macarena Pérez also secured the silver medal. The last silver medal was unexpectedly earned by José Manuel Cedano in the male's BMX Freestyle final.

The day had started with bronze medals in basque pelota, with Magdalena Muñoz and Natalia Bozzo, as well as Julián Stabon and Esteban Romero, reaching the podium in the female's and Male's Trinquet Doubles categories, respectively.

Additionally, Emanuelle Silva won the bronze in the male's 500 meters after a controversial incident involving Brazilian Abel Rocha, who was disqualified for pushing the Chilean.

Finally, in archery, in the individual recurve bow category, Ricardo Soto defeated Brady Ellison of the United States with a score of 6-4, earning the bronze for Chile.

In karate, Camilo Velozo also claimed the bronze medal, losing in the semi-finals to Freire.
