Martín Vidaurre, Paulina Vega To be flag Bearers for Chile at Closing Ceremony

The cyclist and the table tennis player will carry the emblem of the host country at the conclusion of Santiago 2023.

Sunday, November 5th, 2023.- The Santiago 2023 Pan American Games are beginning to bid farewell, with the conclusion of all sporting events, leaving only the closing ceremony, which will take place this Sunday starting at 8:00 PM at the Municipal Stadium of La Florida.

The multi-sport event had the same champion as always, as the United States dominated the medal count with 124 gold medals, 75 silver, and 87 bronze.

For the closing ceremony, the different delegations have to choose their flag bearers, just like in the opening ceremony, and this time, Team Chile decided that cyclist Martín Vidaurre and table tennis player Paulina Vega will carry the flag for the host country.

Vidaurre was in the spotlight for winning a silver medal in mountain biking, while Vega secured three bronze medals in female's doubles, mixed doubles, and females's team events.

The ceremony, which will be held in the La Florida commune, will feature performances by Chilean artists Inti-Illimani Histórico, Congreso, Pascuala Ilabaca, and Joe Vasconsellos, as well as the bachata artist Prince Royce.
