Team Chile won the bronze medals in the female's frontenis and male's trinquete doubles categories.

Sunday, November 5th, 2023.- Team Chile's medal tally continues to grow in the final hours of the Santiago 2023 Pan American Games, with two new bronze medals in basque pelota earned on Sunday morning.

The winners of these medals were Magdalena Muñoz with Natalia Bozzo and Julián Stabon with Esteban Romero, who managed to reach the podium in the female's frontenis and male's trinquete doubles categories, respectively.

Muñoz and Bozzo defeated the Venezuelan pair of María Borges and Diana Rangel with scores of 15-11 and 15-9, while Stabon and Romero did the same by winning 15-8 and 15-14 against the Uruguayan duo of Manuel Pelua and Andrés Pintos.

However, not all the news was good for Team Chile in basque pelota, as Jesús García and Julián González lost the bronze medal match in male's frontenis to the Argentinian pair of Lorenzo Cardozo and Emiliano García. Furthermore, Maritxu Bastarrica and Emilia Domínguez were defeated in the female's trinquete doubles by the Uruguayan duo of Sofia Vicente and Agustina Cuestas.

With these medals, Chile currently holds the eighth position in the medal standings at Santiago 2023, with a total of 12 gold medals, 28 silver, and 32 bronze, summing up to 72 awards.
