Female's BMX Freestyle: American Rider Roberts Takes the Top Spot in the Final

Hannah Roberts, the silver medalist at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, confirmed her favoritism and secured the highest score in the elimination round. Chilean rider Macarena Pérez advanced to the final in fourth place.

Sunday, November 5th, 2023.- American rider Hannah Roberts, a silver medalist at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and a five-time world champion, confirmed her favoritism in the female's BMX Freestyle event at Santiago 2023, securing the top spot in the final. 

Roberts averaged 65.67 points in her two rounds on the track at the Explanada de Deportes Urbanos at the Estadio Nacional, where riders had one minute to showcase their skills. Argentina's Analía Zacarías finished second with 61.83 points, followed by Colombia's Katherine Díaz in third place with 58.00 points. Chilean rider Macarena Pérez finished in fourth place with 45.00 points. All four will advance to the final. 

Local rider Pérez had a strong first run with 65.33 points but had a fall in the second run, earning her only 24.67 points and significantly lowering her score. 

Further down the standings were Mexico's Sofía Báez with 37.83 points, Peru's María Victoria Rocha with 27.00 points, Paraguay's Patricia Marín with 24.50 points, and Brazil's Eduarda Bordignon with 23.50 points.
