Archery: Mexico secures the individual recurve gold

Shooter Alejandra Valencia clinched the top prize by defeating the Brazilian Ana Machado.

Sunday, November 5th, 2023.- The individual final of recurve archery crowned Mexican Alejandra Valencia with the gold medal after defeating the Brazilian representative, Ana Machado, with a total of 7-1 in set points during the morning session held at the Centro de Tiro con Arco de Peñalolén.

The winner displayed her composure in front of the target and eventually overcame her opponent with scores of 29, 29, 27, and 30, totaling 115 arrows.

Ana Machado, on the other hand, achieved scores of 28, 21, 27, and 25, reaching a total of 101 arrows, far behind the competitor who stood atop the podium.

In the final set count, Valencia accumulated 7 set points (2-2-1-2), while Machado only had 1 point (0-0-1-0).
