Saturday 4th November 2023.- Brazil won the gold in male's football after defeating Chile in a penalty shootout at the Estadio Sausalito in Viña del Mar. The match ended in a 1-1 draw after 120 minutes, and in the penalty shootout, the Brazilians prevailed with a score of 4-2.

The team, led by coach Eduardo Berizzo, was superior to their rival and had control of the game and the actions.

With determination, the home team opened the scoring at the 42nd minute after a great play by Damián Pizarro, finished by Maximiliano Guerrero, causing joy among the spectators who filled the Viña del Mar stadium.

In the second half, Chile maintained their organization and good play against a cautious Brazil that didn't create significant scoring opportunities against Brayan Cortés.

However, from a corner kick, Ronald Cardoso silenced the Sausalito with a header, equalizing the score to 1-1 in the 83rd minute, which was the final result at the end of regulation time.

With the match tied, it went into extra time, which was tight, and there were minimal chances on goal for both teams to determine the winner.

From the penalty spot, Brazil was more efficient than Chile. They scored through Matheus, Ronald Cardoso, Miranda, and Mycael (Lucas Figueiredo missed his penalty), while Chile scored with Matías Zaldivia and César Fuentes. Jonathan Villagra and Clemente Montes missed their penalties.
