Brazil and Canada to Battle for Gold in Male's Team Table Tennis

While the Brazilian team managed to eliminate Argentina on their way to the final, Canada did the same with the United States.

Saturday 4th November 2023.- Table tennis at Santiago 2023 is entering its final stages with the determination of the semi-finals in the male's team tournament, where Brazil and Canada proved to be stronger, earning their places in the battle for the gold.

The Brazilian team eliminated Argentina by defeating them 3-2, thanks to the victories of Hugo Calderano over Santiago Lorenzo (11-5, 11-5, and 11-7), Vitor Ishiy over the same Lorenzo (8-11, 7-11, 11-8, 11-9, and 11-6), and Calderano over Gastón Alto (10-12, 11-3, 11-3, and 11-9).

On the other side of the bracket, Canada overcame the United States with a 3-2 victory, featuring wins by Eugene Wang and Siméon Martin over Siddhartha Naresh and Jishan Liang in the doubles (11-8, 11-7, and 11-7), Edward Ly over Nandan Naresh (11-8, 7-11, 11-7, and 11-7), and Wang against Naresh (11-8, 9-11, 11-8, and 13-11).

The final between Brazil and Canada will take place on Sunday, November 5th, at 1:00 p.m. at the Centro de Entrenamiento Olímpico.
