Saturday 4th November 2023.- Argentina lived up to its status as the favorite against Venezuela in male's basketball and secured the gold medal in the Santiago 2023 Pan American Games, allowing them to defend the title they had previously won in Lima 2019.

At the Polideportivo 1 of the Estadio Nacional, the Argentine basketball team claimed a 79-65 victory in the final, concluding an impeccable tournament in which they won all five of their matches on their way to this well-deserved Pan American prize.

The standout players for Argentina were Bautista Lugarini and Franco Baralle, who contributed with 17 and 15 points, respectively. Additionally, Javier Alejandro Saiz excelled in defense with ten rebounds.

With this gold medal, Argentina solidified its position in seventh place on the medal table, with 14 gold, 24 silver, and 32 bronze medals. Meanwhile, Venezuela currently stands in 11th place with seven gold, 15 silver, and 20 bronze medals.
