United States delivers and secures gold in water polo

The leader of the medal table overcame Brazil in the final. Argentina surprisingly took home the bronze.

Saturday 4th November 2023.- The United States was the top contender to win the gold medal in water polo, a task they accomplished in full at the Santiago 2023 Pan American Games.

The leader of the medal table had little trouble in the battle for the gold, defeating Brazil at the Estadio Nacional Julio Martínez Prádanos pool with a score of 17-7.

The standout players in the title fight were Alexander Bowen and Chase Dodd, each scoring three goals.

The gold medal was not the only prize that the United States won; they also secured a spot in the 2024 Paris Olympics.

In the battle for the bronze, there was a significant surprise as Argentina made it onto the podium by narrowly defeating Canada 12-10.

Finally, in the contest for fifth place, Puerto Rico beat Mexico 13-9, while Cuba defeated Chile 12-11 in the battle for the seventh spot.
