The United States Celebrates in High Jump

American Olympic athlete Rachel McCoy lived up to her favoritism and won the event with a jump of 1.87 meters.

Saturday 4th November 2023.- American athlete Rachel McCoy won the high jump competition on the closing day of the athletics events at the Santiago 2023 Pan American Games.

The North American Olympic athlete, who participated in Tokyo 2020, lived up to her status as the favorite due to having the best season mark among the competitors, and with a jump of 1.87 meters, she claimed the Pan American gold medal.

While not reaching her personal best of 1.96 meters, McCoy outperformed Colombian athlete Jennifer Laritza Rodríguez (1.84 meters), who secured the silver medal.

The South American, a former Pan American junior champion, put on a notable performance and was in contention for victory until the final jumps.

The current champion of the high jump in the Central American and Caribbean Games, Dominican athlete Marisabel Senyu, took home the bronze medal with a jump of 1.81 meters.
