Brazil concludes rhythmic gymnastics with another gold in 3 ribbons and 2 balls

The South American team achieved a score of 31.800 to secure the gold medal, their eighth in this discipline.

Saturday 4th November 2023.- Brazil added another gold medal in the 3 ribbons and 2 balls category of rhythmic gymnastics on this day, solidifying its dominance in the discipline at these Pan American Games.

The South American country excelled in the event thanks to the performances of Barbara Urquiza, Gabriella Coradine, Victoria Anderson, Giovanna Oliveira, and Nicole Pircio, who achieved a score of 31.800, surpassing Mexico and the United States on the podium.

Giovanna Oliveira, a member of the Brazilian team, expressed her joy after securing this new gold, saying, "It was a performance that left us very happy. Thanks to God, we had great harmony, which allowed us to win this gold medal."

Adirem Tejeda, a part of the Mexican team that won the silver with a score of 28.200, mentioned, "We are happy with the medal, but not satisfied with the routine. We had been working and training better than what we presented, but nonetheless, we are content."

To conclude, Hana Starkman, a bronze medalist with the United States, expressed her happiness, "We were very excited about our performance today and achieving our goal, which was a clean routine. I think that proves that we worked very hard, and it allowed us to earn another medal for the United States."

With this, the curtain falls on rhythmic gymnastics at the Santiago 2023 Pan American Games, with Brazil emerging as the dominant force in the discipline, accumulating eight gold medals, four silvers, and one bronze.
