Colombia Secures a Historic Bronze Medal in Male's Volleyball

For the first time in history, the Colombians clinched a medal in the Pan American discipline.

Saturday 4th November 2023.- Pushed to the limit, Colombia secured a historic medal in male's volleyball by defeating Cuba 32-30, 15-25, 29-27, and 25-17 to claim the bronze.

The Colombian team made history at the Arena Parque O'Higgins, as they clinched a medal in the discipline for the first time, and in doing so, denied the Cubans a podium finish, who had won the silver at Lima 2019.

The match was highly competitive, with two sets decided in tiebreakers, and in those crucial moments, Colombia proved to be more accurate.

After the match, captain Leandro Mejía expressed, “We are very proud of this team's hard work and everyone who supports us. We thank the Chilean and Colombian people who came to support us.”
“Games are won by playing, it was a great performance. We had many ups and downs, but we managed to overcome them, and that's what it's all about, never lowering our heads, our hands, or stopping dreaming,” he added.
