Table Tennis: Puerto Rico Advances to Female's Team Final

The winning team will compete for the gold medal against the United States after defeating Chile 3-0, with Chile securing another bronze.

Saturday 4th November 2023.- At the Centro de Entrenamiento Olímpico in Ñuñoa, the second Saturday match in female's team table tennis ended with Puerto Rico defeating Chile 3-0.

As a result, Puerto Rico advanced to the final against the United States, which is scheduled for noon on Sunday.

In the first match against Chile, the duo of Brianna Burgos and Melanie Díaz defeated Daniela Ortega and Paulina Vega in four sets (7-11, 11-6, 11-1, and 13-11).

Next, Adriana Díaz prevailed in three sets (11-5, 11-5, and 11-9) against the Chilean player of Chinese origin, Zhiying Zeng.

Finally, Melanie Díaz won in four sets (11-7, 11-8, 5-11, and 11-6) against Daniela Ortega.

With this defeat, Chile concluded its participation with a bronze medal.

In the early hours, the United States defeated Brazil 3-0, with Brazil also securing a bronze medal.
