The United States Secures Two Gold Medals Against Mexico in Recurve Archery

In both the male and female's events, the American archers defeated their Mexican counterparts on the penultimate day at the Santiago 2023 Pan American Games.

Saturday, November 4th, 2023.- Displaying their archery prowess, the United States secured two more gold medals in the team recurve archery category and reaffirmed their position as the top regional power on the penultimate day at the Santiago 2023 Pan American Games.

The Americans defeated Mexico in both the female and male's events. First, it was the turn of Catalina Gnoriega, Casey Kaufhold, and Jeffifer Mucino-Fernández, who defeated the Mexican team 5-1. Subsequently, Trenton Cowles, Brady Ellison, Jackson Mirich, and Jack Williams triumphed over the Mexican team with a score of 6-2.

With these victories, the American archers now lead the specific medal count with three golds, their only defeat being in the male's compound archery against the Salvadoran team.

The archery competition will conclude in two days. On Saturday evening, the semifinals for individual male and female archers in compound and recurve archery, as well as mixed teams, will be held to determine the medalists on Sunday at Parque Peñalolén.
