Table Tennis: USA Advances to Female's Team Final

The North American team triumphed 3-0 over Brazil, securing their spot in the gold medal match against either Puerto Rico or Chile.

Saturday, November 4th, 2023.- The penultimate day of Pan American Games table tennis is taking place this Saturday at the Centro de Entrenamiento Olímpico in Ñuñoa.

In the early hours, the United States team defeated their Brazilian counterparts with a 3-0 score, leaving Brazil with the bronze medal.

First in the doubles, Rachel Sung and Amy Wang defeated Bruna Costa and Giulia Takahashi in three sets (with a triple 11-7 score).

Later, Lily Zhang triumphed over Bruna Takahashi in three sets (11-9, 11-8, and 11-6).

Finally, Amy Wang emerged victorious over Giulia Takahashi in four sets (11-4, 11-7, 11-13, and 11-7).

The United States now awaits their opponent for the gold medal showdown at Santiago 2023, set for this Sunday. The contender will be determined from the match between Puerto Rico and Chile, scheduled for this Saturday at 12:30 p.m. local time.
