Rosario Valderrama adds a bronze medal for Chile in basque pelota

The local player secured the third-place victory in the rubber ball category by defeating Cuban Laura Álvarez with a score of 2-0.

Saturday, November 4th, 2023.- In a remarkable performance that showcased a significant difference, Chilean Rosario Valderrama claimed the bronze medal in the rubber ball paleta category of Pan American basque pelota. She achieved this by defeating Cuban Laura Álvarez Prado in two sets to zero.

In the first set, the Chilean quickly took control of the score, ultimately winning the set 15-8. In the second set, Valderrama even reached a 10-0 lead, closing it comfortably with a score of 15-3 to secure the bronze medal.

Throughout the competition, the local player, who is a professional architect, had losses against the Argentine Sabrina Andrade, the Mexican Marifer Noriega, and the same opponent she faced in the battle for third place. Additionally, she defeated the Uruguayan Macarena Morell. With these results, she managed to secure a spot among the top three in her category.
