Female Water Polo: Chile bids farewell without winning a match

In the match for the seventh and eighth place, the local team lost 18-13 to Puerto Rico. Argentina and Brazil will compete for the bronze medal, while the United States and Canada will battle for the gold in the grand final.

Saturday, November 4th, 2023.- Chile concluded its participation in the female's water polo championship with an 18-13 defeat to Puerto Rico, bidding farewell to Santiago 2013 without being able to celebrate a victory.

In the contest for the seventh and eighth place, the Puerto Rican team defeated the host team in a closely fought match, always maintaining a lead on the scoreboard from the first quarter.

Thus, Chile leaves having lost all six of its matches, against the United States, Brazil, Cuba, and precisely Puerto Rico. Meanwhile, the islanders won two matches, both against the Chilean team.

Today, the female's water polo competition will come to a close with the bronze medal match between Argentina and Brazil, scheduled for 11:00 a.m., and the grand final between the two top contenders, the United States and Canada, set to start at 12:30 p.m.
