Panamanian Chambers Achieves the Best Time in 800-Meter Semi-finals

The Central American athlete recorded a time of 1'46''99 in the crowded qualifying heats for the final on Saturday at Santiago 2023.

Friday, November 3rd, 2023.- Panamanian Chamar Chambers led the group of eight athletes who will be present in the final of the 800 meters, which will take place on the closing day of athletics at the Santiago 2023 Pan American Games.

The Central American surprised with his time of 1'46''99, as he entered the semifinals with the third-to-last worst time of the season among the 18 competitors.

However, he dominated his heat and, ultimately, the day, surpassing Venezuelan Ryan López (1'47''22) and Puerto Rican John Rivera Jr (1'47''42).

The fourth best time was for Jamaican Navasky Anderson (1'47''51), the owner of the best mark of 2023.

The other four qualifiers for Saturday's final are Dominican Ferdy Agramonte (1'47''55), Puerto Rican Ryan Sánchez (1'47''59), Mexican Jesús López (1'48''98), and Venezuelan José Antonio Maita (1'49''12).
