Brazil Secures Spot in Handball Final after a Resounding Victory over the US

The South American team defeated the Americans with a commanding score of 40-27.

Friday, November 3rd, 2023.- Brazil aims for another gold medal at the Santiago 2023 Pan American Games, having reached the male's handball final with a clear victory over the United States by 40-27 in a semi-final match played at the Gimnasio Polideportivo at Viña del Mar.

The standout player on the court was Brazilian Jean Pierre Dupoux, with eight goals, while the most effective was Rudolph Hackbarth, who scored all seven of his attempts on the American goal.

After the match, Brazilian Rangel da Rosa said: "The United States is a team that has been improving a lot in recent years, and we were mentally strong, which allowed us to start breaking the game."

Brazil seeks revenge for the previous Pan American Games at Lima 2019, where they secured the bronze medal. Now they are aiming for the gold and will face the winner of the match between Argentina and Chile in the final.

The handball medal matches will take place this Saturday. The bronze medal match will kick off at 5:00 p.m, while the final is set for 7:30 p.m.
