Friday, November 3rd, 2023.- The United States took all the applause in the afternoon session of archery at the Santiago 2023 Pan American Games, held at Parque Peñalolén.
They secured spots in the finals for mixed team events in both recurve and compound archery and seem to have no rivals on their path to claiming the collective title.
In the first discipline, Americans Brady Ellison and Casey Kaufhold eliminated Cuba and Colombia to advance to the final, where they will compete for the crown against Brazil, represented by Ana Machado and Marcus D'Almeida, who defeated Argentina and Mexico.
On the other hand, Kris Schaff and Alexis Ruiz secured a spot in the final for the United States by surpassing Chile and Brazil, and they will battle for the top spot on the podium against Sara López and Jagdeep Singh of Colombia, who defeated the Team of Independent Athletes and Mexico.
Unfortunately, the Chilean archers couldn't defend their home turf and were eliminated in the round of 16. Ricardo Soto and Javiera Andrades in recurve archery faced off against the Team of Independent Athletes, and Alejandro Martín and Mariana Zúñiga, who will also compete in the Parapan American Games, competed in compound archery against the United States.
