Friday, November 3rd, 2023.- In the second male's basketball game on Friday, Chile defeated the Dominican Republic with a score of 83-75, securing the fifth place at Santiago 2023. The Chilean team gained momentum from their victory over Mexico with a score of 63-59 the previous night and entered the game on Friday with the goal of achieving their best position in the prestigious event, held at the Polideportivo 1 of the Estadio Nacional.

Chile won the first and third quarters with scores of 29-15 and 20-12, respectively. Meanwhile, the Dominican Republic claimed the second and final quarters with scores of 19-9 and 29-25. Despite their efforts, the Central American team fell short and had to settle for the sixth place.

The standout player for the Chilean team was Nicolás Carvacho, who contributed 24 points and 10 rebounds, achieving a "double-double," a term commonly used in the world of basketball. On the Dominican Republic team, the top performer was Juan Suero, with 15 points and three assists.
