Field Hockey: Trinidad and Tobago crushes Peru and claims seventh place

The Trinidad and Tobago team crushed Peru, and the Peruvian side was helpless against their vastly superior opponents.

Friday, November 3rd, 2023.- The Trinidad and Tobago team dominated Peru with a final score of 10-0, securing the seventh position in the male’s field hockey tournament at the Pan American games.

Trinidad and Tobago asserted their dominance right from the start, scoring four goals in the first quarter, allowing them to control the game comfortably. The team was led by their top scorer, Theague Marcano, who netted six goals.

His brother, Tariq Marcano, added two more goals, and Joel Daniel and Shawn Phillips each contributed one goal.

"I am very happy with my goals because they helped the team secure a convincing victory against Peru and finish the tournament on a high note. It was a fantastic experience playing here with such a great audience and enthusiastic spectators who supported all the teams. We have at least achieved the seventh place," commented Theague Marcano after the match.

In the noon session on Friday at Santiago 2023, Mexico and Brazil will compete for the fifth place in the tournament. In the evening (5:30 p.m. local time), Canada and the United States will battle for the bronze medal.

At 7:45 p.m., Chile and Argentina will face off in the final of the Pan American Field Hockey tournament.
