Thursday, November 2nd, 2023.- On the fourteenth day of official competitions in these Pan American Games, the United States surpassed the milestone of 200 medals, widening their lead in the medal standings in Santiago 2023, with a total of 207 medals.
In athletics alone, the Americans won five medals: two gold (female's pole vault and female's heptathlon), one silver (women's 5,000 meters), and two bronze (female's shot put and male's 1,500 meters).
They also celebrated victories in fencing, winning the team competitions in both female's and men's events.
Furthermore, they secured the gold medal in the female's doubles bowling, and in females freestyle wrestling, they claimed the top spot on the podium in the 68-kilogram category.
As a result, the United States maintains its first-place position in the medal standings with 207 medals: 90 gold, 55 silver, and 62 bronze. Brazil is in second place with 145 medals (46 gold, 53 silver, and 46 bronze), followed by Canada with 126 medals (37 gold, 39 silver, and 50 bronze). Mexico holds the fourth position with 101 medals (37 gold, 24 silver, and 40 bronze), and Cuba is in fifth place with 45 medals (19 gold, 14 silver, and 12 bronze). Chile remains in seventh place with 46 medals: eight gold, 20 silver, and 18 bronze.
