Brazil dominates in rhythmic gymnastics and celebrates the team gold

The South American powerhouse secured the first-place position after their brilliant performances at the 2023 Pan American Games in Santiago.

Thursday, November 2nd, 2023.- Brazil showcased its excellence in rhythmic gymnastics at Santiago 2023 Pan American Games, where the Brazilian delegation has already secured two gold medals in the discipline.

In the early hours of the competition, Bárbara Domingos claimed the all-around title. However, the Brazilian team didn't stop there. The South American squad went on to claim the top spot on the podium in the team competition.

Gymnasts Bárbara Urquiza, Gabriella Coradine, Victoria Anderson, Giovanna Oliveira, and Nicoles Pircio accumulated a total of 64.450 points, with 35.400 in the five hoops routine and 29.050 in the three ribbons and two balls routine, making them the best team in the competition.

The silver medal went to Mexico, with Julia Gutiérrez, Ana Flores, Kimberly Salazar, Adirem Tejeda, and Dalia Alcocer, who scored 61.750 points, with 34.150 in the five hoops and 27.600 in the three ribbons and two balls.

The bronze medal was earned by the American team, consisting of Karine Sakhnov, Gergana Petkova, Hana Starkman, Isabelle Connor, and Karolina Saverino, who accumulated 58.300 points, including 31.500 in the five hoops and 26.800 in the three ribbons and two balls.

Mexico secured their spot in the team competition at Paris 2024 with their second-place finish, as Brazil had already secured their spot.
