Chile qualifies for the female's 4x100 final with a new national record

The local relay team finished second in their semi-final heat with a time of 44.35 seconds, which is the third-fastest time among the qualifiers.

Thursday, November 2st.- The female's 4x100 relay event determined its finalists. The most notable achievement in the earlier rounds was when, in the second semi-final heat, Chile made a significant impact by finishing in second place with a time of 44.35 seconds, surpassing the previous national record for the event (44.40) by five hundredths of a second.

The Chilean quartet consisted of Anais Hernández, Martina Weil, Isidora Jiménez, and María Ignacia Montt, breaking the record that had been set in July at the South American Championships in Sao Paulo, Brazil, by Paula Goñi, Cecilia Olivares, Jiménez, and Hernández.

In the semi-finals, Cuba secured the first position with a time of 43.63 seconds, while Colombia qualified in third place with a time of 44.67 seconds.

In the first semi-final, Ecuador surprised with the fastest time of 44.34 seconds. Argentina came in second with a time of 44.72 seconds, and their anchor, María Victoria Woordward, had to be carried off on a stretcher after falling following the finish line.

The United States finished in third place with a time of 44.83 seconds. The Dominican Republic qualified as the best fourth-place team with a time of 45.05 seconds.

The final will take place on the same Thursday at 8:53 p.m.
