Cuba struggles to beat Puerto Rico, will contend for medals in male's volleyball

The island team prevailed in five sets and advanced to the semi-finals of Santiago 2023.

Thursday, November 2nd, 2023.- The Cuban male's volleyball team has qualified for the semifinals of the Pan American Games after defeating Puerto Rico with a score of 3-2.

Despite being the favorites, the Cuban team had to exert maximum effort to secure a spot among the top four at Santiago 2023, where they will compete for medals.

In the breakdown, Cuba won by scores of 25-16, 25-21, 13-25, 22-25, and 15-11, with Miguel Ángel López being the standout player of the winning team, contributing 27 points.

It's worth noting that in the previous Pan American Games at Lima 2019, Cuba finished in second place after losing in the gold medal match against Argentina.
