Thursday, November 2nd, 2023.- The United States and Canada have qualified for the male's team épée final at the Pan American Games, having eliminated Venezuela and Argentina, respectively, on Thursday.
The Americans won a closely contested match against the Venezuelan team, with a score of 45-41, after Venezuela had previously defeated the home team.
Samnuel Imrek expressed his satisfaction at reaching this stage, especially after not making it to the podium in Lima.
"We are going for the gold... I have one hundred percent confidence. We are attacking well and staying very alert. We know we are going to win," he stated ahead of the final, scheduled for 5:00 p.m. on Thursday at the Centro de Deportes Paralímpico at the Estadio Nacional.
Canada had fewer difficulties in defeating the Argentinian representatives with a score of 45-30, securing a medal in this discipline that they hadn't won since the 2011 Pan American Games in Guadalajara, where they claimed the bronze medal.
