The match, held at the Centro de Béisbol y Sóftbol located in Cerrillos, was thoroughly dominated by the victorious team, which celebrated their first victory in their third appearance at the Pan American Games.
Peru's captain, Alessandra La Puente, said, "We are very happy and thrilled with this participation, which ends with a very significant victory for us."
"It's an immense source of pride to at least have one win, and we dedicate it to our country... From now on, we aim to continue competing at a high level. It was incredible, the support we received was like being at Lima thanks to the cheering from the crowd."
Later in the day, Cuba will face Venezuela for the fifth place, starting at 1:00 p.m. local time.
