Fencing: Chile Unable to Beat Venezuela in Male's Team Epee

The host team of the Pan American Games will compete for secondary positions.

Thursday, November 2st.- Chile's male's epee team in fencing won three out of the nine rounds, two of them thanks to silver medalist Pablo Núñez. However, they couldn't overcome Venezuela's strength, which secured a place in the Pan American team competition semifinals with a score of 33-23.

"Venezuela is a top-3 team in the world. They are a very strong team with great fencing references. But we are continuing to improve, and now we are going to compete for other positions. The key is to stay determined to achieve the best possible placement. We are motivated for what's coming," commented local specialist Joaquín Bustos.

At noon on the present day, Chile will face Colombia, who lost to the United States 45-41, in the battle for fifth to eighth place. The other losing team's clash will feature Brazil and Cuba.

Meanwhile, in the race for medals in the male's epee semifinals, Venezuela will take on the United States, and Argentina will face Canada starting at 11:45 a.m.
