Female's Water Polo: Argentina is the first semifinalist

The South American team defeated Puerto Rico 13-11 in a tightly contested match and is now awaiting the winner of the match between Mexico and the United States. The losing team, on the other hand, will continue to compete for secondary positions.

Thursday, November 2st.- Argentina became the first semifinalist in the female's water polo competition, which is taking place at the Centro Acuático del Estadio Nacional, by defeating Puerto Rico 13-11 in the first quarter-final match.

It was a closely contested match that started with an advantage for the Puerto Rican team in the first quarter (2-1), and by the end of the first half, the score was tied at 5-5.

It was in the second half where the South American team began to pull ahead. At the end of the third quarter, they were leading 11-10, ultimately securing a 13-11 victory in the end.

However, Argentina's next challenge will be much tougher: they will face the winner of the match between Mexico and the United States, where, unless a major upset occurs, the North American team is expected to prevail. This is a significant match, as the United States has been the reigning champions in the last five Pan American Games.

On the other hand, Puerto Rico will continue to compete for secondary positions, aiming to secure a ranking between fifth and eighth place.

In today's other quarter-final matches, Chile will face Canada, and Brazil will play against Cuba.
