Brazilian Lucas Conceição achieves gold in the 400 meters final

The athlete achieved a convincing victory with a final time of 45.77. Martin Kouyoumdjian, representing Team Chile, secured the bronze medal due to the disqualification of the Colombian Anthony Zambrano.

Wednesday, November 1st.- Lucas Conceicao, one of Brazil's promising sprinters, secured the Pan American gold medal in the male's 400 meters at Santiago 2023, in the event held at Estadio Nacional.

The athlete was the Brazilian champion in the U18 and U20 categories, as well as the winner of the U20 South American Championship in Cali and a bronze medalist in the U20 Pan American Championship last season in San José, Costa Rica, all of them in 2022.

The silver medal went to Luis Antonio Avilés of Mexico with a time of 45.97 seconds, while the bronze was awarded to Chilean athlete Martín Kouyoumdjian after the Colombian representative, Anthony Zambrano, was disqualified.

Kouyoumdjian clocked a time of 46.58 seconds, and it's noteworthy that he wanted to be a footballer before turning to athletics, a sport he has only practiced for three years. Additionally, he received news on Wednesday that he will be going to the United States on a scholarship.
