Bárbara Domingos leads after the first day of rhythmic gymnastics

The Brazilian has the highest score after the hoop and ball routines.

Wednesday, November 1st.- The beauty of rhythmic gymnastics began to amaze everyone at the Centro de los Deportes Colectivos at Estadio Nacional with the start of the individual event, better known as all-around.

The hoop was the apparatus that kicked off the competition at the Santiago 2023 Pan American Games, where the highest score was achieved by Brazilian María Eduarda Alexandre, with a score of 33.550, followed by the American Evita Griskenas (32.800) and the Mexican Marina Malpica (32.650).

Next up was the ball routine, where Brazilian Bárbara Domingos excelled with an impressive score of 33.200. Griskenas (31.950) and Malpica (31.850) followed with lower scores.

For now, with the clubs and ribbon routines yet to come, Paranaense Bárbara Domingos is in the first place with a total score of 65.200, followed by Evita Griskenas (64.750) and Marina Malpica (64.500).

Local competitor Javiera Rubilar didn't have a strong performance, finishing 13th out of 18 competitors with a general score of 52.200.

The grace of this Olympic discipline will return this Thursday when the club and ribbon routines are held, starting at 4:00 p.m.

Rhythmic gymnastics at Santiago 2023 offers a qualification spot for Paris 2024 to the winner of the combined all-around event.
