Mexico defeats Dominican Republic, will compete for fifth place in handball

The Mexican team will aim for the fifth place in the discipline after finishing third in Group A.

Wednesday, November 1st.- Mexico closed their participation in Group A of male's handball with a 26-19 victory over the Dominican Republic, securing a third-place finish in their group.

The Mexican team dominated the match from start to finish, and thanks to the scoring efficiency of Sayyed Morales (6), Fernando Rodríguez (5), Jesús Rivera (4), and Jesús Loya (4), they secured a victory that allows them to compete for fifth place at the Pan American Games.

This is as they finished third in Group A with two points, consisting of two losses and one win.

After the match, Luis Ortiz stated, 'It was an intense game from the start, and we came out with the right attitude and pulled it off.'

'Unfortunately, we didn't make it to the semifinals, and now we'll fight for fifth place, where we'll face either Cuba or Uruguay,' Ortiz added.
