Chile defeats the United States and will compete for gold in male's football

The team led by Eduardo Berizzo narrowly defeated the Americans in Valparaíso.

Wednesday, November 1st.- Chile advanced to the final of male's football by defeating the United States 1-0 at Estadio Elías Figueroa in Valparaíso.

The first half of the match was closely contested, with few goal-scoring opportunities for both teams.

The only goal of the game came in the 57th minute from a beautiful free-kick by César Pérez, leaving goalkeeper Antonio Carrera with no chance. After that, Alexander Aravena missed an incredible chance in the goal area.

It's worth noting that the Chilean team reached the gold medal match without conceding any goals, reflecting the defensive solidity of Eduardo Berizzo's squad.

Chile will compete in a Pan American Games final after 36 years, with the last appearance being in Indianapolis '87, where they lost to Brazil 2-0.

The opponent in the quest for their first gold medal in male’s football (they have two bronze and one silver) will be determined between the winner of Brazil and Mexico.

The final will take place on Saturday, November 4th, at 8:00 p.m. at Estadio Elías Figueroa in Playa Ancha.
