The 400 meters hurdles define their finalists

Daniela Rojas from Costa Rica led the first semifinal series in the female's 400 meters hurdles, while Chayenne Pereira from Brazil did so in the second. The final will take place this Friday.

Wednesday, November 1st.- Costa Rican athlete Daniela Rojas advanced to the final of the female's 400 meters hurdles with the best time in the semifinals. In the first heat, she clocked 58.16 seconds, while Brazilian Marlene Santos did it in 58.29 seconds. The third-best time went to Panamanian athlete Úrsula Woodruff, with a time of 58.68 seconds.

Rojas started the race from behind, and only in the last 200 meters did she manage to secure her lead to claim the top spot in the classification.

In the second semifinal, it was Brazilian Chayenne Pereira who achieved the best time, with 57.85 seconds. She was followed by Cuban Zurian Hechavarría, with a time of 58.99 seconds, while third place went to Michelle Smith from the Virgin Islands, with a time of 59.32 seconds.

Virginia Villalba (1'00.28) and Dominican athlete Franshina Martínez (1'00.55) completed the qualification for the final.

The final of the female's 400 meters hurdles will be held next Friday, starting at 17:35.
