Male field hockey: Mexico wins on penalties against Trinidad and Tobago

After a 3-3 draw, the Aztecs won 2-0 in the shootout, and now they will play for the fifth and sixth place. Meanwhile, the Trinidadians will compete for the seventh and eighth position.

Wednesday, November 1st.- In a match for the secondary positions in the male field hockey competition, Mexico defeated Trinidad and Tobago in a penalty shootout after a 3-3 draw in regulation time.

The Mexicans had finished third in Group A, while the Trinidadians were last in Group B. On the field of Estadio Nacional, they displayed a very even level, with neither team able to gain an advantage greater than one goal.

Following the final tie, Mexico won 2-0 in the penalty shootout and will now compete for the fifth and sixth place against the winner of the match between Brazil and Peru.

Meanwhile, Trinidad and Tobago will play for the seventh and eighth place against the loser of that match.

In the quest for medals, later on, Argentina will face the United States, and Canada will play against Chile in the semi-finals.
