The South American team faced challenges in the first and second sets but displayed great defensive skills, showed their experience in critical moments, and ultimately secured the win with set scores of 25-23, 25-23, and 25-19.
Following the victory, outside hitter Andrés Piza praised Colombia's performance: "We were very focused against a team with a lot of height. We showed solidity, and the 3-0 win gives us a lot of confidence for the next match. We had tight matches with Cuba, Brazil, and Mexico, but we prepared for that."
In the evening session, Colombia will learn their next opponent in the quarterfinals, and the Antioquia native expressed his eagerness: "We have a lot of hope of winning a medal, and this victory motivates us to keep pursuing that goal. We will give our all, and that's our commitment."
