Male Handball: Argentina Maintains Its Perfect Campaign

The Pan American champions concluded their participation in the first round by defeating Cuba 28-20, and they await the loser of the match between Brazil and Chile in the semifinals.

Wednesday, November 1st.- In a match that was only a formality, Argentina defeated Cuba 28-20, finishing their participation in the first phase of the male's handball competition at the Pan American Games with a perfect campaign.

The Argentinian team, the current Pan American champions, had already secured the first place in Group B in advance, while the Cubans no longer had any chance of qualifying for the semifinals. Therefore, both teams took to the court at the Gimnasio Polideportivo in Viña del Mar without pressure, and Argentina ended up asserting its greater experience.

The other team to reach the semifinals from this group was the United States, which had previously defeated Uruguay. The latter and Cuba will have to settle for playing for the secondary positions.

On the other hand, the Group A will conclude on Wednesday with the matches between the Dominican Republic - Mexico and Brazil - Chile. The last two teams have already secured a spot among the top four, but the result will determine their opponents in the semifinals: the winner will face the United States, and the loser will have to go up against Argentina.
