Wednesday, November 1st.- On Wednesday, in the first game of the male's Pan American basketball tournament, the Argentinian national team overcame Panama with a score of 85-77, showcasing their favoritism to defend the gold medal they won at Lima 2019.
The Argentinian team performed well, at the Polideportivo 1 at the Estadio Nacional, winning the first two quarters (22-15 and 21-17, respectively), losing the third quarter (25-28), and tying in the final quarter (17-17), which was more than enough to secure the victory.
Argentina's standout player was Martín Cuello, who contributed 23 points, two rebounds, and two steals, while Amílcar Sánchez stood out for Panama with 21 points and five rebounds.
The male's basketball schedule continues later in the day with games featuring Venezuela and the Dominican Republic in Group A starting at 1:00 p.m., Puerto Rico against Mexico in Group B at 5:30 p.m., and Brazil facing Chile, also in Group B, at 8:00 p.m.
