Female's Water Polo: Canada concludes the first phase perfectly

The Pan American runner-up reaffirmed its status as a contender for the gold, securing its third victory by defeating Mexico 32-7, and remaining undefeated. Canada now awaits its opponent for the quarterfinals.

Wednesday, November 1st.- Canada reaffirmed its credentials as the Pan American runner-up in female's water polo, concluding its participation in the first phase at Santiago 2023 with a perfect record of three victories in as many matches. 

In their last match in Group A, at the Centro Acuático del Estadio Nacional, the Canadian team defeated Mexico, which, in contrast, lost all three of its matches. 

Canada dominated in every quarter, leading 7-2 in the first, 8-2 in the second, 8-1 in the third, and 9-1 in the final quarter. This victory adds to their previous triumphs over Argentina (14-9) and Cuba (24-3). 

On the other hand, the Mexican team had suffered losses to Cuba (14-11) and Argentina (8-6). 

The first phase of female's water polo will conclude today with the final match of this group, between Cuba and Argentina. In Group B, Brazil will face the United States, and Chile will compete against Puerto Rico.
