In the male’s category, Mexico dominates the discipline, securing spots in the semifinals for Leonel Cárdenas and César Salazar, who achieved comfortable victories over Juan Vargas from Colombia and Timothy Brownell from the United States.

In the female's bracket, the United States has placed three competitors in the semifinals, making the gold medal seem almost assured.
