Tuesday, October 31th, 2023.- Dominican José Arnaldo González secured the Pan American gold in the closely contested final of the male’s 100 meters, the event that concluded the Tuesday session at the central coliseum of the Estadio Nacional.

The Central American athlete, who arrived at Santiago 2023 with good results at the El Salvador Games and the Bolivarian Games, both held earlier in the year, delivered a solid performance to claim the gold medal.

His runner-up, Brazilian Felipe Bardi (10.31.302 seconds), was one of the favorites, thanks to his success in the youth category, winning several titles in the Under-18 and Under-20 individual events and the 4x400 relay. Moreover, in September of this year, he achieved a time of 9.96 seconds, making him the current record holder in his country.

Finally, the bronze medal went to Guyanese athlete Emmanuel Archibald, who recorded a time of 10.31.310 seconds.

In Wednesday's athletics schedule, the highlights include the female’s finals in the hammer throw, 100 meters hurdles, and 400 meters, as well as the male's finals in the 110 meters hurdles and 400 meters.
