Tuesday, October 31th, 2023.- Brazil began its participation in male's basketball with a solid 74-24 victory over Mexico in a match valid for Group B.
The game, held at the Polideportivo 1 at Estadio Nacional, was completely dominated by the Brazilians, who won three of the four quarters (19-10, 23-13, 18-13). They only lost the last one 14-18, but their victory was never in doubt.
Gabriel Crepaldi was the top scorer for Brazil with 14 points, followed by Marcio Da Costa (13) and Guilherme Pereira (13). Meanwhile, for Mexico, Víctor Valdés and Fabián Jaimes were their top scorers with 9 points each.
Brazil's next game will be on Wednesday against Chile, with the match scheduled for 8:00 p.m. local time. Mexico, on the other hand, will face Puerto Rico on the same day at 5:30 p.m. local time.
