The United States and Canada extend their dominance in male's water polo

The North American teams secured convincing victories over Puerto Rico and Cuba, respectively

Tuesday, October 31th, 2023.- The top contenders to reach the final in male's water polo at the 2023 Pan American Games are the United States and Canada, and on Tuesday, they demonstrated their determination.

The United States secured their second victory at the Estadio Nacional Julio Martínez Prádanos pool by defeating Puerto Rico convincingly with a score of 28-9.

With this win, the current Pan American champion claimed the top spot in Group A with six points, while Puerto Rico remains at the bottom of the group with no points.

In the second match of the afternoon, Canada had no trouble defeating Cuba with a score of 24-6.

This victory solidified Canada's strong lead in Group B, with six points from two wins, while Cuba remains without any points.

Water polo is one of the sports that provides direct qualification spots for the 2024 Paris Olympics. The champions in both the men's and women's categories will earn their places at the five-ring event through Santiago 2023.
