Male's Volleyball: Cuba defeats Colombia and remains undefeated

In Group A, the Cuban team secured a 3-0 victory with set scores of 25-22, 25-23, and 25-23 at the Arena Parque O'Higgins. The South Americans suffered their second consecutive defeat and are still seeking their first set win.

Tuesday, October 31th, 2023.- In a much closer match than the final score suggests, Cuba defeated Colombia 3-0 and achieved their second victory in the male's volleyball competition held at the Arena Parque O'Higgins.

The intensity of the match is reflected in the closely contested nature of each set, with the Colombian team putting up a persistent fight but ultimately succumbing to the Cuban side with set scores of 25-22, 25-23, and 25-23.

"It was a very even match, but fortunately, we managed to close out all the sets because it could have easily gone the same way as yesterday's match against Mexico, where we won 3-2. This time, we were more focused and took another step toward our goal, which is winning a medal," acknowledged the Cuban player Miguel Ángel López, referring to their narrow victory over the Mexican team on Monday.

On the other hand, the Colombian team had started their campaign with a 3-0 loss to Brazil.

Today's schedule continues with the match between Mexico and Brazil at 1:30 p.m., while in Group B, Argentina will face the Dominican Republic (5:30 p.m.), and Chile will compete against Puerto Rico (8:30 p.m.)
