Female's Water Polo: Canada Secures Their Second Victory

The North American team, which made their debut by defeating Argentina 14-9, faced fewer challenges this Tuesday and defeated Cuba 26-5, virtually securing the top spot in Group A.

Tuesday, October 31th, 2023.- Canada, the current Pan American runner-up in female's water polo, confirmed their candidacy to compete for the gold medal by defeating Cuba 24-3 in their second match, virtually assuring themselves of the top position in Group A.

The North American team had started by defeating Argentina 14-9, and on Tuesday, they had far fewer issues against the Cuban team. They won the first quarter 6-0, the second 7-0, and the third 3-0, allowing the Cuban team to score only in the last quarter, which ended 9-3.

With this result, Canada comfortably leads the group, while Cuba experienced their first loss after defeating Mexico 14-11 in their first match.

The female's water polo competition continues today with the match between Argentina and Mexico at 11:00 a.m. In Group B, the United States will face Puerto Rico at 09:30 a.m., and Brazil will compete against Chile at 12:30 p.m.

As for the male's competition, the matches scheduled for today are the United States vs. Puerto Rico at 3:00 p.m. and Brazil vs. Mexico at 6:00 p.m. in Group A. In Group B, Canada will face Cuba at 4:30 p.m., and Argentina will take on Chile at 7:30 p.m.
