Monday, October 30th, 2023.- The representative of Team Chile, Martín Kouyoumdjian, will compete for a medal in the final of the men's 400 meters after finishing in third place in his semifinal heat at the Estadio Nacional track.
The local athlete achieved a time of 46.91 seconds, ranking as the sixth best time in the distance for the evening.
Brazilian Lucas Conceicao was the fastest in the two previous heats leading to the final, with a time of 45.76 seconds, surpassing his compatriot Lucas Carvalho, who clocked in at 46.79, and Mexican Luis Antonio Áviles with 45.84.
Also advancing to the final of the men's 400 meters, which will take place on Wednesday, are Argentine Elián Gaspar Larregina (46.90), Colombians Anthony José Zambrano (46.01) and Jhon Perlaza (47.06), as well as American Richard Kuykendoll (47.36).
Among the finalists, Zambrano holds the best personal record with a time of 43.93 seconds.
