On the tenth day of competitions, Chile added two silver medals thanks to judo and tennis, disciplines in which they secured second place.
Judo athlete Jorge Pérez contributed the first medal for the home team with an outstanding performance in the male's 81-kilogram category, closing the Sunday session of this sport at Santiago 2023.
Meanwhile, Chilean tennis player Tomás Barrios secured the silver medal after losing in the male's tennis final to the Argentinian Facundo Díaz (ranked 109th in the ATP), who claimed the gold.
In table tennis, the local players guaranteed bronze medals in all three doubles competitions (female, male, and mixed) as they advanced to the semifinals scheduled for October 30th, ensuring at least a third-place finish in their record.
Although no medals were obtained, Martín Vidaurre's commendable fourth place in road cycling deserves recognition, as he finished almost on par with the winners and narrowly missed the podium. Vidaurre had previously won a silver medal in mountain biking at the start of these games.
